Bend, Breathe, and Conceive Fertility Yoga: Review and Giveaway

During the time that I've spent attending my weekly yoga class, I've noticed a great deal of relaxation into my day, and, as a person who suffers with daily anxiety, I'm always on the look out for natural ways to reduce my stress. However, if someone were to tell me that yoga could help increase fertility, I'd be a bit skeptical, yet, in the Bend, Breathe, and Conceive DVD , Dr. Anna Davis discusses the role stress plays in fertility as well as the advantages yoga has shown to play in helping couples conceive.

Now, Hubs and I have only recently began thinking of trying for another baby, and within that time I've been looking into different fertility products that are out on the market, and when I came cross Bend, Breathe, and Conceive, I was interested, not only in the fact that it promotes itself as a fertility dvd but that its yoga as well. :)

The yoga itself runs 60 minutes and is pretty intense. Anna quickly moves from one pose to another, guiding you through the transitions with descriptions of moves as well as exceptional modeling through her own great flexibility and strength.

The first time I put the DVD in I simply sat back and watched as Anna moved gracefully through the poses, taking snapshots of how her body moved and visualizing how I'd move mine as well. And, after only 5 minutes of doing the different poses, I came to understand this is an authentic yoga style, focusing on breath, strength, flexibility, and body awareness. I'm also hopeful that with the endurance and strength building that's required to hold these poses, I'll even see results in weight loss as well.

In regards to fertility, Dr. JE Ellington, CEO of ING Fertility and inventor of Pre-Seed says, "Bend, Breathe and Conceive offers a realistic and enjoyable method to incorporate a daily practice of stress reduction and whole body health. Stress management techniques such as yoga, especially during the fertile part of the cycle, have been shown in several studies to lead to increased pregnancy rates, and a healthier intimate relationship for the couple."

Overall, the 25 years Dr. Davis has spent practicing yoga, as well as her educational background in Biophysics and Physiology, truly shines through in this DVD. It is not only an educational resource for couples who are wanting to conceive, but it's also a tool for better health. And if you're interested, you can watch a trailer of Bend, Breathe, and Conceive as well as read studies done on stress, yoga, and infertility .

Retailing normally for $19.95, FairHaven Health is offering one of my readers the chance to win their own Bend, Breathe, and Conceive Fertility DVD, simply leave a comment on this page (as well as an email or twitter id to be reached if you are the winner), sharing your story of fertility and/or experiences with yoga.

I've been interested in yoga for awhile. I've bought the DVD's and never really made myself get into it and actually do it. I've heard that it helps with some infertile couples. My husband and I have been TTC for almost our entire marriage of almost 3 years. We've gone trough so much but God has kept us strong and we know in his perfect timing that he is going to bless us with a healthy baby. In 2008, I was diagnosed with PCOS, Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, thus making it extremely hard to concieve. My husband has a few challenge health issues, which hasn't helped very much. We've sought out the best infertility doctors and have gone through the ups and downs of Clomid and Inta Uterine Insemination. We stuck with Nashville Fertility Center for about 4 months spending thousands of dollars just to hear the words, you need to try IVF. My husband was laid off from his job at the end of 2008, thus losing our health care benefits so we've not sought any medication or treatment sense. We've been relying on our faith, and our prayers. I try so hard to keep a positive outlook even though its unbearably hard. It's emotionally damaging especially since everyone of my friends are having babies and always talking about getting pregnant. Don't get me wrong I'm super happy for them, but it always makes me wonder why I can't have a Child. Why won't my body do what its supposed to do. That is another battle in itself. My health due to PCOS has gotten worse and I've gained like 20 more lbs, which is super depressing. So maybe getting into yoga and proper exercise routine I'll start to feel better and just maybe my body will begin to heal itself. :) If your intrested in more about our story please see our infertility blog. www.ourjourneythrufaith.blogspot.com
or Email me at Texasgurl8708@yahoo.com. I hope I win. :) That would be really cool and such a blessing. Merry Christmas. ~ Jess

Jess,
I'm sorry it's been such a hard road for ya'll. I keep you and Tim in my prayers and I know you will get your baby.

I think anything we can do that would benefit our bodies, health wise, is a positive step to take for us all...whether we're trying for babies or not.

You are an inspiration to me in how positive you've remained through all the changes that have taken place within your life. Your faith in the Lord is beautiful and keeps others, like myself, strong in our faith.

My husband and I have been ttc for the eight years we have been married. We have gone through infertility treatments with no success. Reading your blog has intrigued me...I have always heard that yoga is good for you, but I wasn't sure what it would do. Maybe this is the key to success...

I just recently have started looking into healthy and natural ways to improve my fertility. The past few years have been rough! When I was 18, and after gaining around 80 lbs in a year, my doctors finally found out that I have PCOS, and endometriosis. I had a surgery where they cleared it out and then I was on a type of depo(cant remember the name for some reason)shot for 6 months which basically stops your hormones, its almost like menopause! I was miserable, and my fiance (now husband) said just plain crazy! I took it for 6 months and finally decided I just couldn't do that any longer!
After coming off the shot the doctors said it could be up to 5 years before it was completely out of my system, this was in 2006. To this day we have had 8 miscarriages (conceived with high dosages of clomid), the farthest along I was is 11 weeks, which turned out to be a molar pregnancy and I had to have a D&C. It has been over a year since that pregnancy and I have not been able to get pregnant at all. We just started using Fetilaid and Fertili Tea. I am hoping it leads us to a baby to hold in our arms and not just in our hearts. I know God has a plan for us, and it is our goal to be faithful and leave it up to him, but that is easier said than done. In the mean while we are changing our lifestyle to become healthier in the hopes that it will help with our infertility.

I love yoga would love to win this too!
My story consists for ttc for 14 years we have adopted four beautiful children and couldn't be happier but still holding out for a miracle! We've had multiple infertility treatments all of which failed there is no medical explanation of why we can't conceive which is so hard it would be a lot more understandable if we had something wrong but hasn't happened and couldn't take it anymore and felt adoption was the road for us and it has been miracle after miracle and so many blessings because of it! I feel for everyone having to go through this trial.
hope you have a merry christmas!

I have not been trying as long as some people but my frustration lies in the fact that I have been told time and time again that there is nothing wrong just keep trying...well obviously just keeping on trying is not working now is it :(
