I'm a Semi-Ego-Kind of Friendly Gal

I really do care about the environment and yet I'm pretty inconsistent with it comes to sticking with ideas that actually make a difference. I remember the whole recycling moment I had as a child and the bags of paper products I made my parents take to the local dump to recycle. I never actually helped out with the process but more or less preached about the cause until it was done. :) My leadership skills.

And then there are the environmental friendly products I buy, use, and then at some point decide to gripe about the price of such products and then out of the blue switch to the cheaper, more chemically based products. I do love the DIY cleaners on pinterest, and yet I think I'm a little apprehensive to give it all a go. I tend to make big boo-boos on projects and I've gotten to where I don't enjoy the aftermath of it all so I tend to stick with what I know. I should change that.

And, let's not forget the hype I have over locally grown organic foods. That certain cuts down on chemicals in the environment. And, honestly, I do believe these chemicals cause severe damage to our health, especially to the health of our children. I'm not sure why I don't stick with what I know to be best. It's time I did so. It's time to stop walking around with my eyes clinched tightly, trying to ignore the damage that is being done, and actually actively take a part in being healthier for my Earth and my family. And I will.....

Taking A Moment To Upload Pics and Recall Moments: Christmas 2011

Maddie truly enjoyed Christmas this year. She told anyone and everyone she met, "Merry Christmas," and had a blast opening each present.

An item from their stockings, they both got harmonics since I knew it would be a huge hit with them both. Jeremy and Maddie even played a bit together for the fam. :)

Jeremy was a very passionate present opener...he ripped into everything. And I love The Christmas Story playing the background.

Austin, even though he was smiling moments before the pic was taken, he pulled a "Sean" on me and threw out this face. Teenagers....

Maddie was very delicate with her presents. She actually finished opening her last ones around 9:00 last night. She'd open one then insist on opening up the toy to play with before going on to another.

And then we ended the night quietly playing and snacking on popcorn. It was a great day with family! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!!

Life is all about change...

With Daddy's new work schedule, Maddie and I are adjusting to later nights. The past two nights she hasn't been able to drift off to sleep before 11:00 p.m. which really throws me for a loop since I typically hit the hay around 9:00 p.m.

Last night I was actually up til 1:00 a.m. just chatting with Sean after Maddie finally fell asleep around midnight. We miss our Daddy. I love the fact that he's getting the first half of the week off to keep Maddie but the second half, with late nights, is a bit of an adjustment. I actually forced myself to get up at 9:00 a.m. today which typically by this time I'd been already been up for about 3 hours, cleaning and enjoying my quiet time. My eyes are still tired and I even made a pot of coffee to help with the wake up. It is most definitely a new life for us all. And, with the babe quickly approaching, I have a feeling we are all going to be becoming nice night owls. :)
